by Duderanch I don't know about you, but when I play NES, I like to turn down the volume on my TV and put some music on. Now, the music that I play depends on the type of game, feel of the game, and how fun the game is. Choosing the wrong music can have disasteous effects on your game-playing ability, and vice versa. Here are some examples of how to choose proper music. First of all, let's say that I feel like playing CONTRA. Let us first analyze Contra. It is a fun game with alot of killing in it. In other words, it is fast-paced and violent. For this, the only band that fits this description is metal band Slipknot. Are you starting to understand how this works?
Now, what if I wanted to play Rockin' Kats. Hmm, lets see. Kats that rock?? The only band that I can think of is chick band Kittie. Makes sense to me.
What if I want to play....Guerilla War. In Guerilla War, you play as a bearded man in which you have infinite continues, so you will never die. Bearded men that just won't die?? I know!! I'll put on some ZZ Top!
Okay, now I want to play Hydlide. Hydlide is a terrible game with lack of effort and inpiration. Hmm, let's see. Terrible and uninspired? When I think of those two adjectives, I always think of Limp Bizkit. But of course I would rather shoot myself than listen to Limp Bizkit, which is probably why I never play Hydlide.
Okay, now that I've offended Limp Bizkit and everyone who likes Limp Bizkit, I'll end this article. The point of this is to help you realize that while NES music is good, REAL music is better. Just imagine how cool it would be if "Hells Bells" was the level 1 theme for Castlevania. Or what if "Stairway to Heaven" was the Kid Icarus theme? What if "Enter Sandman" was played when you fight Mr. Sandman in Mike Tyson's Punch-Out? Playing NES this way is QUITE an experience. In closing: If that annoying theme in Super Mario Brothers even gets you down, a little Pantera should soothe the soul. |
